What is a node?
A node is a piece of compute resource, such as a server or virtual machine, equipped with the Sysfra agent. This agent allows you to manage the node centrally, providing comprehensive control over your infrastructure.
Why do I need this?
If you frequently need to RDP/SSH into machines to configure tasks or cron jobs, or if you lack visibility into your infrastructure's current state, Sysfra can help. Our platform streamlines management and enhances transparency across your compute resources.
Is it easy to set up?
Absolutely! Enrolling a node is simple. Just install the Sysfra agent on your desired compute resource and provide it with a cryptographically secure token. We’ll handle the rest.
What is a job?
A job is an abstraction of a unit of work. It can range from transferring files via FTP, running a Python script, clearing files, or performing system-specific functions. Jobs are dispatched from Sysfra via the agent to your nodes. You’ll be notified of the expected outcome and any deviations.
What platforms do you support?
We currently support Windows and Linux.
Do I have keep the Agent up to date?
Both yes and no. You can opt for automatic updates, ensuring your agent is always updated. If you choose manual updates, be aware that nodes may become locked after major updates until they are updated. Locked nodes will continue executing their current jobs but won’t accept new ones until updated.
